Aug 05, 2023BMW CE02 electric scooter spotted testing in India
- Seems in production-ready form
- Features a quirky and slim design
- Comes with single and dual battery options
The BMW CE02 has been spotted testing in India. Two test mules of Bavarian EV were seen in Karnataka and here’s what we know about it.
The CE02 is already on sale in the international market and its asking price is set at USD 7,599 (approximately Rs. 6.27 lakh sans taxes). That’s a fairly expensive offering compared to the electric scooters on sale in India. So, the BMW CE02 could be used for benchmark testing. It’s powered by a 2kWh battery and buyers have the option to purchase the CE02 with a single or a dual battery setup. It’s linked to a belt-driven motor and gets 45kmph of top speed and 45km of range from a single battery.
The features list comprises ride modes, LED illumination, reverse gear, keyless operation, USB charging port, 3.5-inch TFT, ABS and more. Then, the BMW CE02 also gets a host of accessories like the top case, soft seats, luggage set, and windscreen too.
Its hardware includes USD front forks, adjustable rear shocks, and a 239mm front disc with a 220mm rear disc. The CE02 rides on 14-inch wheels wrapped in 120/80 front and 150/70 rear tyres. While the CE02 electric scooter looks quite quirky with its slim design and simple build overall, it's unlikely to debut here anytime soon because there are much more affordable and practical options available here. For reference, the Ola S1X is priced Rs. 89,999 and the Ather 450S comes at Rs. 1.29 lakh (all ex-showroom, Bengaluru).
